Fourth Friday is a poetry and music event at the Poetry Cafe in London's Covent Garden.  At 8pm on the fourth Friday of every month we'll be featuring booked poets, singers, songwriters and musicians - known and not so known.  There'll also be voices from the floor

Fourth Friday is hosted by Hylda Sims & Simon Hacking.  Hylda is a poet, novelist and songwriter with a track record for organising live poetry and music events at the Poetry Cafe and elsewhere.  Simon is a recent English Literature graduate and comics critic.

a Chinese gang, the winds
weddings and no funeral
blue suede shoes for twins
monocles for quads
two pairs of lips
a hand of fingertips
a game of whist
rabbit on the BBC

squares and trapeziums
oblongs and rhomboids
quarters and quartets
barbershop complete
Yankee Doodle's birthday party
New Orleans marching beat

the longest hour before the dawn
how many weeks to round the moon?
the fourth Friday
of every month is not
fortunately,
